- Situation — situasinya seperti apa
- Task — apa yang jadi tanggung jawabmu
- Action — apa yang kamu lakukan
- Result — hasilnya apa (kalau bisa, dengan angka)
Contoh penerapannya:
"In my last role, our team was missing deadlines almost every week (S). I was asked to find out why (T). I tracked every task for two weeks and found most delays came from unclear briefs, so I created a short brief template and made it mandatory (A). After a month, on-time delivery went from 60% to 90% (R)."
Empat kalimat. Jelas, konkret, ada angka. Ini yang dicari pewawancara.
Kelompok 1: Pembuka
1. Tell me about yourself.
Pertanyaan paling sering, dan paling sering dijawab salah. Ini bukan minta biografi — ini minta ringkasan profesional 60–90 detik.
"I'm a digital marketer with three years of experience, mostly in e-commerce. Right now I handle paid ads and content for a fashion brand, where I helped grow monthly revenue by around 40%. I'm looking for a role where I can work on a bigger product with a stronger data team — which is why this position caught my attention."
2. Why do you want to work here?
"Two reasons. First, you're one of the few companies in this space that publishes its product roadmap openly — that tells me a lot about how you work. Second, the role focuses on retention, which is the part of marketing I enjoy most."
Sebut sesuatu yang spesifik tentang perusahaannya. Jawaban umum seperti "your company is big and reputable" terdengar seperti kamu melamar ke mana saja.
3. Why are you leaving your current job?
Jangan pernah menjelekkan tempat lama. Arahkan ke depan, bukan ke belakang.
"I've learned a lot there, especially about working with small budgets. But the team is staying small, and I want to work on projects with a bigger scope — that's not something my current role can offer right now."
4. What do you know about our company?
"You started as a logistics tool for small sellers and now handle end-to-end fulfillment. I read that you expanded to Eastern Indonesia last year, which I imagine brings a whole different set of delivery challenges."
5. What are you passionate about?
"Making complicated things simple. In my last job I rewrote our onboarding emails, and support tickets from new users dropped by a third. Small change, but it saved the team hours every week."
Kelompok 2: Kekuatan & kelemahan
6. What is your greatest strength?
Pilih satu kekuatan yang relevan, lalu buktikan.
"I'm good at spotting patterns in messy data. At my last company, I noticed our churn spiked every third month for one specific segment — it turned out to be a billing issue nobody had connected to churn before."
7. What is your greatest weakness?
Jujur, tapi tunjukkan penanganannya. Hindari klise "I'm a perfectionist" — pewawancara sudah dengar itu ratusan kali.
"I tend to take on too much instead of delegating, because I want things done a certain way. I've been working on this by handing over one recurring task each month and writing clear guidelines for it. It's helped, though I still catch myself sometimes."
8. How do you handle criticism?
"I try to separate the feedback from my ego, which isn't always easy. Usually I ask for one specific example so I know exactly what to change — that makes feedback much easier to act on."
9. How do you handle pressure or stress?
"I break the work into what must happen today versus what can wait. When everything feels urgent, writing it down usually shows that only two or three things actually are."
10. What motivates you?
"Seeing something I built actually get used. When we launched the new checkout flow and I saw completion rates go up the same week, that was better than any bonus."
Kelompok 3: Pengalaman & perilaku
11. Tell me about a time you failed.
"I once launched a campaign without testing the landing page on mobile. Around 70% of our traffic was mobile, and the form was broken for two days. I lost about a week of budget. Now I have a pre-launch checklist, and mobile testing is the first item on it."
Pewawancara tidak mencari orang tanpa kegagalan. Mereka mencari orang yang belajar dari kegagalannya.
12. Tell me about a conflict with a coworker.
"A designer and I disagreed on how much text should be on the homepage. Instead of arguing about taste, I suggested we test both versions for a week. Hers converted better, so we kept it — and after that we started settling most disagreements with small tests."
13. Describe a time you led a project.
14. Tell me about a time you had to meet a tight deadline.
15. Give an example of a goal you reached.
16. Tell me about a time you had to learn something quickly.
"When our analyst left, I had to take over the weekly reports in SQL, which I'd never used. I spent two evenings on a basic course and asked a friend to review my first queries. It took me twice as long at first, but within a month I could do the report in under an hour."
Kelompok 4: Tentang posisinya
17. Why should we hire you?
"Based on what you described, the biggest challenge is getting the new product in front of the right people. That's exactly what I did in my last role — I built the entire acquisition channel from zero to 5,000 users in eight months, with a small budget."
18. Where do you see yourself in five years?
"I'd like to be leading a small team. I've been mentoring one junior for the past year and enjoyed it more than I expected — so growing into that role properly is what I'm aiming for."
19. How do you prioritize your work?
20. What kind of work environment do you prefer?
21. Are you a team player or do you prefer working alone?
"Both, depending on the stage. I do my best thinking alone, but I've learned to bring drafts to the team early rather than showing up with something finished — feedback is cheaper before you've built everything."
Kelompok 5: Penutup
22. What are your salary expectations?
"Based on my research for this role and my experience, I'm looking at a range between X and Y. But I'm open to discussing it once I understand the full scope and benefits."
23. When can you start?
"I need to give one month's notice, so I could start in early September."
24. Do you have any questions for us?
Selalu punya pertanyaan. Menjawab "no, I think everything is clear" adalah kesempatan yang terbuang. Tiga yang selalu bagus:
- "What does success look like in this role after six months?"
- "What's the biggest challenge the team is facing right now?"
- "How would you describe the way this team makes decisions?"
25. Is there anything else you'd like us to know?
| Kesalahan | Kenapa merugikan | Gantinya |
|---|---|---|
| Jawaban terlalu panjang | Pewawancara kehilangan poin utamamu | Maksimal 90 detik per jawaban |
- Rekam dirimu menjawabnya tanpa membaca.
Semoga lancar interview-nya.
